Get involved

On or off skates, there’s a place for you in ORD. Contact us to sign up.

Play

Women over the age of 18 are eligible to train with ORD. Once you have passed minimum skills, you’re eligible to scrimmage and bout.

New players—the Chaos Crew—are welcomed on a regular basis through open houses, where you can try out skates and get a feel for the sport and league. Open houses cover basic skating techniques, safe falls and stops. We can rent you skates and lend you the gear (first-come, first-served) to get you started.

Once you become a dues-paying and insured member of the league, you’ll work toward the WFTDA minimum skills test, after which you become a member of a house team. House teams train with and play against each other.

Referee

No experience is required to become an official. For skaters who aren’t sure if full-contact is for them, becoming an official is a great way to learn the game and improve your skills. We welcome men and women. Contact ordheadref@gmail.com for details and to schedule a practice.

Derby bouts require seven on-skate refs and numerous non-skating officials. Refs skate with the league, pay reduced dues, and must pass the skills test. We can rent you skates and loan you the gear to get started.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed as non-skating officials and to help organize and run events and bouts. Contact ordvolunteer@gmail.com.
